Hey Hub, thanks for the heads up.
I wouldn't do that. There are plan to switch to ONE tarball. And then
you'll have lot of user complaining that AbiWord does not support
OpenDocument because it is a plugin they haven't installed the
package.... The # of bug reports in Ubuntu just speaks for itself.
Will it be a single ./configure && make && make install to build it when
that happens or will it be like < 2.5 where we had to do abiword, then
the plugins (and I guess then the extras now)?

You'd need to build a single RPM from abiword, abiword-plugins and
abiword-extras tarballs, which each is following autotools
conventions. FYI, extras is cliparts, dictionaries and templates
(therefore may or may not be desireable to include).
